1- Find a class near and in good time.
It seems a good idea go to several studies and taking classes with different professors. Sometimes you need to try a couple of times to find the most suitable class for you. When the class is far or at a time that does not work with our schedule, it may be difficult to go to class.

2- It takes classes for beginners.
Classes for beginners will give you a good basis for your practice. This is essential, even if you have good physical condition, because the classes for beginners teach you the basic vocabulary of Yoga and the fundamental principles for developing your own practice.

3- Not untimely with yourself or with others.
In the United States, live in a society focused towards competition and the achievement of goals. To please our ego, sometimes try to compete with ourselves or with other persons in the class. This desire to compete can result in injuries when we try to do more of what we can. Yoga is the knowledge of ourselves, so there is no room for competition. Moreover, compete with ourselves or with others, interferes with our ability to be completely present in our practice.

4- Be patient.
Let that your learning takes place at your own pace. Sometimes we tend to want to see results immediately. Use this way of thinking in the practice of Yoga can motivate us to ignore our limits, often resulting in injuries.
On the other hand, remember that the rest of your life you have to practice Yoga. Practice at the pace that’s perfect for you.

5- Enjoy the beginner stage.
Some people who have been practicing Yoga for a while sometimes assume that you know how to make a stand, which causes his practice to become mechanics.
When we are starting the yoga have great advantages: first, have no pre-conceptos about the practice, which helps us to be responsive and to pay attention to what happens during practice. Second, we have not developed habits in our practice. In the book Anatomy of Hatha Yoga, David Coulter indicates that the quality of our inner attention is what determines whether the level of our practice is beginner or advanced. It is therefore important to focus our attention on the job and leave our ability to grow with our ability to concentrate.

6- Avoid the pain.
Yoga should not cause pain. As we said before, the Yoga aims integrate breathing, the body and mind. Always pay you attention to the sensations that appear before entering the position, as you move towards the position and posture.
At the first sign of resistance (mental, physical or breathing), for, and give you back a bit, normalizes the breathing and notes that she is happening. As you feel comfortable in the position you can begin to explore the origin of the resistance. Always remember that Yoga should not cause pain.

7- Breathe continuously.
Breathing is the main axis of the practice of Yoga. As breathing only exists in the present, to concentrate on breathing directs our attention to the practice. Use breathing to focus your attention by verifying that you breathe through the nose with a breathing quiet and deep all the time. Maintain the focus on breathing continuously is harder than it seems!

8- Take a break when you need them.
It is perfectly valid to stop many times as need you during practice. Remember that be present includes rest when necessary. A good pose to rest is the pose of the child.
In addition, we have the rest of our lives to practice Yoga, i.e. There is no desire!

9- You are responsible for your actions.
Having the mind alert is an important part of Yoga. Remember that your are responsible for your actions. So you must decide whether the positions presented by the teacher are appropriate for you. When you learn to do this you you are preparing to create your own practice.

10- Put attention to the effects of your practice.
During the day, note the effects of Yoga in your life and enjoy as you feel. If you feel better after practicing Yoga, use that feeling to motivate you to practise again.

Seated Two Leg Forward Bend Position

How-to: Sit down together with your legs out directly and together. Flex your knees as much as needed to make a forward lean feasible, after that lean forward until you feel some resistance in the backs of your legs, gently holding your hands around your calves, ankles or feet.

Tips: With joint either bent or straight, keep your chest long and open as you come forward, leading with your belly and lower ribs rather than your shoulders.Take several breaths to come forward in this way, calming on your exhales. Round over your legs at the end to release your back and neck.

Seated One Leg Forward Bend Position

How-to: Sit down using your knees close to your chest, and extend first leg straight out. Let the second knee drop to the side, and connect the bottom of your foot with the thigh of your straight leg. Keep hips foursquare to the entrance, and softly lean forward over your extended knee.

Tips: Don’t hurry to slim over your extended leg. Use your oxygen to come forward, lead with your belly and lower ribs, and keep the front of your body long and open. For one good twist, try rolling your ribs and shoulder that are on the same side as your extended leg slightly higher than your ribs and shoulder on the other side.

Benefits: Opens up your legs.

Move your hips and body gently forward, and widen your legs enough to feel some resistance. Walk both hands little by little forward between your legs, keeping the front of your body long and open.

Tips: You can drop your shoulders and head at the end to get a nice back and neck release, but try several breaths with your sit-bones grounded and the front of your body open. Lean forwards enough that you feel some opposition in the backs of your thighs, but don’t force it. Both hands can also stay behind you for support, and your knees can be slightly bent.

But in practice it is often linked to its origins in the Hindu religion. It is touted as a method for learning to live with greater intensity and joy without psychological effort. It offers a better life without worrying about giving up SIN or endeavour to live according to Christian morality.

The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit “yug” which means “unite”; It literally means “Union with divinity”. It is not Union with God, our father, the Hindu does not recognize a personal God but the Braman, or absolute, that is impersonal energy. According to Hinduism, the end of all yoga is the absolute joining they conduct. Energy, according to Hinduism, it invades all and manifests itself in many gods. One of these is God Chiva, deity who plays an important role in the practice of yoga.

The concept that everything is part of a same surround substance known as “monism”. Referred to God, pantheism is called: “Dios es todo and everything is God”. Accordingly, all beings would be part of the divine. Monism as Pantheism are clearly contrary to the Catholic faith theories.

Yoga is linked with another Hindu belief, the reincarnation. They believe that the spirit is trapped in the body, seek release it so that you can merge with the energy which is God. This merging with the divine is called “samadi”.

The liberation of the spirit would be altered States of consciousness, to what is necessary “meditation” and the positions of the body.

Types of yoga

There are seven traditional schools of yoga: Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Laya Yoga and Kundalini Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Mantra Yoga. Each school uses a different method to develop the “chakras” but all aim to reach, through a vacuum interior, achieved through altered States of consciousness to the realization of the own divinization.

In Hatha Yoga, one of the most practiced in the West, physical exercise and the positions are intended to condition the mind and tone the body to experience an altered state of consciousness. Breathing exercises are used to control the “prana”, which supposedly is the psychic energy source and origin of all extrasensory phenomena experienced in advanced States of yoga practices. Prana is planning in the “chakras”, which regulate.

Yoga as exercise?

Many Christians say exclusively using yoga exercise without getting involved in the pagan side. The famous Suami Vishnudevananda responds to them: “many people think that Hatha Yoga is just a mere exercise.” But in reality, there is no difference between Hatha Yoga and Raja Yoga (the occult discipline of Hindus) “.”

Christian tradition takes into account the importance of the body and the senses in prayer, we are body and soul and these two aspects can not dissociate. But why opt for exercises that are associated with idolátricas practices?

You must be well aware that the essence of prayer is Union with God, who has fully revealed in Jesus Christ. Why we do not put the mind blank but we turn to Jesus in prayer for the, and only, reign in our hearts.

We recommend very carefully:

-Yoga centers are places of promotion (veiled or openly) for Eastern beliefs, Hinduism and the new era. Provides literature, other meetings… The environment is gradually influence.
-Yoga books include Hindu or new age teachings.
-The Christian must not be put his mind “blank”, do “mantras” or have “experiences” extrasensory. How likes the enemy of God that people relax and put your mind blank when he is around! A mind open to that between any spirit would be easily permeated by the daemon. Christian prayer focuses Jesucristo Nuestro Señor so that the mind is subject to the. We do not allow any intruders.
